At Sussex, you will join a community of students and staff from across the world – our students come from over 100 different countries.  There are over 500 undergraduate and postgraduate courses on offer at the University, taught by world-leading academics with a huge range of expertise.

Our campus in the only one in the UK located in a national park, and it is just nine minutes from the central buzz of vibrant Brighton on the train.

There are around 40 students from Taiwan at Sussex, studying a wide range of subjects.  We have welcomed students from across Hong Kong for many years, and have a number of student exchange partners there. Sussex is friendly, open and innovative university, with plenty going on for each and every student.  There are over 200 student-led societies here, including the International Students’ Society, and the Taiwanese Society.  You could also join the Brighton Taiwanese Students’ Union.  We have a very active group of alumni in Taiwan, (USTAS), and they run events where you can find out more life at Sussex before you arrive.  Visit their Facebook page for more information.

The Buddy Scheme at Sussex is a great way to meet new people, explore Brighton and find your way around life at University.  You will be matched to a student based on your interests, course or language, and events include visits to the Harry Potter studios, bouldering and survival workshops.

The city of Brighton is vibrant and diverse, and the perfect place to be a student.  There are shops, cafes and bars to suit every taste, as well as a busy sporting and arts calendar.  Brighton is one of the top 10 city beach destinations in the world (according to the Lonely Planet) and the seafront is a great place to spend lazy summer afternoons in the sun or enjoy the wild winds of a British winter.
